RIM announces BlackBerry WebWorks Tablet OS SDK for BlackBerry Playbook v2.1. There is the addition of new APIs and application functionality in this latest update so that developers can easily create applications WebWorks more, more interactive in its use. With support for BlackBerry In App Payment API developers can include In App Payment Services as part of their application. This makes it possible to sell digital goods directly from the BlackBerry Playbook.
Developers are now able to better integrate applications with the functionality of the Tablet OS Playbook and create new experiences that take advantage of professional features Playbook.
Camera API example to take pictures or record video from within the application WebWorks with dual HD cameras Playbook;
API microphones that can be used to enable the ability to record audio with a microphone Playbook; Identity API that provides applications with the ability to retrieve PIN information or file IO APIs gives the possibility to read, copy and write files to the Tablet OS file system.
In addition to JavaScript, many Tablet OS API WebWorks can now use AJAX that allows for increased flexibility of application development.
To help developers with a smooth transition to the 2.1 version of the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK, RIM has also updated the API Reference Guide and includes an additional mechanism to call some API WebWorks.
