BlackBerry Dev Alphas updated to 10.9.10.35 0

As we reported BlackBerry has released an OS update to the Blackberry 10 Dev Alpha bringing it to version 10.9.10.35. This update is available Over-The-Air (OTA). This should hold the promised features like Phone, and Hub.  If you are lucky enough to have a Dev Alpha, click on the software update in settings on your device. You can also go to the developer page, but it has not been updated to reflect the new OS.

BlackBerry Dev Alphas updated to 10.9.10.35

An OS update to bring Dev Alpha devices up to v 10.9.10.35 has been released. In a post on its Developer Blog last week, BlackBerry promised minor changes in the SDK, but that Hub and Maps would be enabled on Dev Alpha preview devices.

As of right not the Developer page has not been updated to reflect the new version. What we do know is the it is supposed to bring the BlackBerry Hub, Phone and BlackBerry Maps applications.  This allows for end to end integration of the Blackberry 10 applications.

UPDATE: Hub messaging is now functional, so developers can peek to their heart’s content.  The phone interface has now been made active, so Dev Alpha’s with active SIMs can now actually make calls(!).  Maps, alas, is there but seems to have trouble connecting to location data.

BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha OS Update – January 30th 0

It seems like RIM still has some plans for developers who will have their BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha’s on January 30th. They plan on rolling out an OS update for both the Dev Alpha A & B devices that will include the BlackBerry Hub, Phone, and BlackBerry Maps applications. This will come along with a slightly updated version of the BlackBerry 10 SDK OS and target for developers. I am not sure why developers will not have sent in their devices for a limited edition BlackBerry 10 device but it seems like RIM will have everyone covered.

BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha OS Update – January 30th

BlackBerry 10′s official launch is right around the corner. RIM wants to make sure developers are ready for the launch. As such,
“on January 30th we’ll be providing an updated version of the BlackBerry 10 SDK and OS for the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha A and B testing devices. This SDK and OS upgrade will be delivered in the same manner as the previous target OS version, as an available target OS update in the Momentics IDE and as an OS upgrade for your BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha testing device. Please check out the details from the previous blog post on how to download the latest target OS from within Momentics, and how to upgrade your BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha OS.
Just like the previous target OS update, this one brings simply a newer version of the BlackBerry 10 SDK OS but with a slight twist. This January 30th update will also include the BlackBerry Hub, phone, and BlackBerry Maps applications. Adding these three new applications will go further to help developers test their end-to-end integration with core BlackBerry 10 applications.”

Get ready for BlackBerry 10 development to go even further. You’ll finally be able to tie your apps into the BlackBerry Hub, phone, and BlackBerry Maps app!
