Top 5 Things You Should Know About The BlackBerry Q10 0

Inside BlackBerry blog posted a few items that they feel you should know about the Q10 to help build more excitement. With the BlackBerry Q10 launching in the next few months, Donny from the Inside BlackBerry Blog shares with us the top 5 things you should know about the device.

Top 5 Things You Should Know About The BlackBerry Q10

The BlackBerry Q10 is the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone to feature a classic BlackBerry hardware physical keyboard. This device combines the iconic BlackBerry keyboard and the power of the BlackBerry 10 platform to bring you what we consider the best smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard on the market. Since I previously showed you five highlights of the BlackBerry Z10, I wanted to share five things you need to know about the BlackBerry Q10 experience.
  1. The keyboard is bigger and better. The BlackBerry Q10 features a straight keyboard design, and is wider than earlier BlackBerry smartphones. The metal frets between the keys are also bigger, offering a more visual appeal while helping to eliminate errors while typing on the go.
  2. The BlackBerry Q10 has the largest battery of any BlackBerry smartphone, ever. The BlackBerry Q10 battery is 2100 mAh in size, which means, well, you can talk, work and play nearly all day on a single charge.
  3. Better shortcuts with Type and Go. This time-saving feature is essentially a shortcut that allows you to send messages faster than ever before. All you have to do is start typing an action like “email” or “BBM,” then a name, and you can quickly take action. Message sent. BOOM!
  4. The design is meticulous, light and durable. The back plate on the BlackBerry Q10 is made of a unique glass-weave material that is lighter and stronger than plastic. The device is surrounded by a machined stainless steel frame with a durable black coating, which is designed to prevent the edges from chipping and keeps your BlackBerry Q10 looking good.
  5. The BlackBerry Q10 is a BlackBerry 10 device, and it performs like one. The BlackBerry Q10 was designed to offer amazing performance available on BlackBerry 10 devices like the BlackBerry Z10. In terms of features and functionality, it runs on the same BlackBerry 10 platform, it can run the same apps, and has a removable back plate for easily replacing the battery or swapping your SIM card.
We’ve told you about the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10; now choosing which BlackBerry 10 device is up to you.

Thorsten Heins and Co. are having an awesome Wednesday, which happens to be one week after the BlackBerry president/CEO and some of his cohorts introduced the world to the completed BlackBerry 10 OS and Z10 and Q10 handsets.

BlackBerry Z10 busting down launch sales records in UK and Canada

The BlackBerry Z10 had a nice start, after all.BlackBerry said it nearly tripled the sales of its best performance over the first week in the U.K., while it had its best first day ever in Canada.

So impressive that BlackBerry is already announcing that it was their best launch day ever. Thorsten Heins went on record stating just how well it turned out:
WATERLOO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Feb. 6, 2013) – BlackBerry(R) (NASDAQ:BBRY)(TSX:BB) today issued the following statement:
"In Canada, yesterday was the best day ever for the first day of a launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone. In fact, it was more than 50% better than any other launch day in our history in Canada," said Thorsten Heins, President & CEO of BlackBerry. "In the UK, we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone."
That gives us a pretty good idea of numbers though hopefully we will hear something official.

BlackBerry “In Talks” To Bring Instagram & Netflix to BlackBerry 10 0

BlackBerry confirms that they are currently in talks to bringing Instagram and Netflix to BlackBerry 10. Today as BlackBerry announced they will be bringing Skype to their platform, like Thorsten Heins said “this is just the beginning”, well looks like he was not playing norsatisfied his motto “Keep moving” is currently in full affect.

BlackBerry “In Talks” To Bring Instagram & Netflix to BlackBerry 10

Say this for BlackBerry — they seem to know they have an app problem and they’re working hard trying to fix it. A BlackBerry spokesperson has told AllThingsD that the company is “in talks” with both Instagram and Netflix (NFLX) to make mobile applications specifically for the BlackBerry 10 platform. So BlackBerry fans may have to wait a while before they have access to two of the biggest apps in the mobile world. As we noted earlier, Instagram’s absence on BlackBerry 10 is particularly glaring because RIM claims it has a strong partnership with Instagram owner Facebook (FB).

Blackberry 10 Using QNX Platform Newest 0

Blackberry 10 Using QNX Platform Newest
Blackberry 10 launch event today, Wednesday (30/01/2013), will also mark a major transition that brought Blackberry platform. That way, the platform is being used now will be replaced with the output platform QNX Neutrino Real Time Operating System (RTOS).

QNX is a company that is also called QNX Software Systems. As with microkernel-based OS, QNX is based on the idea of running most of the OS in the form of a number of small tasks, known as servers.

This is different from conventional Monolithic Kernel, where the operating system is a very large program consisting of a number of 'parts' with special abilities. In the case of QNX, the use of a microkernel allows users to disable this functionality without having to change the OS itself, but only the server is unable to walk.

As reported by Crackberry, the replacement of the current platform with the QNX OS is a second replacement be done RIM since 2001. In that year, RIM launched the first BlackBerry with a model that can be used to accept phone, the Blackberry 5810 that the system uses Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME). To capitalize the operating system, it makes the Blackberry has not been able to compete with the more popular competitors at that time.

Until the entry of Mike Lazaridis, the CEO of RIM with a brilliant idea to bring the Blackberry OS which proved capable of carrying Blackberry tasted success as the best smartphone in the world in the 2000s. "Oh we'll never rewrite the OS. It would be too risky." Says Mike time.

But since April 2010, Mike had the idea to replace the Blackberry OS to QNX which at that time was used as the output of the system in a luxury car Audi, Porsche, and Jaguar.

BlackBerry Z10 available on Vodafone UK January 30th

A leaked document from Vodafone in the UK states that the BlackBerry Z10 may be available even earlier than expected. There was a rumor that devices would land on some carriers starting February 5th, but if this one holds true, Vodafone will be offering up the BlackBerry Z10 for online order on January 30th and it will be in stores on the 31st. So UK customers may luck out and be the first to pick up a Z10.

The Z10 is said to be Vodafone UK's first "4G Ready" device — it will work with the carrier's LTE network once it launches — and there will be a range of on-contract options that thankfully don't require signing up for a special BlackBerry SOC plan. If you're looking for no upfront cost, you'll be paying £47 per month for 3GB of data and unlimited talk and text for 24 months. The cheapest monthly option, meanwhile, is a £25 plan with an upfront cost of £229 that includes 100MB of data, unlimited texts, and 100 minutes of talk. If you're particularly smitten with the white version of the Z10 that we've seen, we're told that it won't be available until mid-February. We'll have more information, including launch plans in other regions, when RIM announces the device officially in a couple of days.
