RIM quietly issued an update Blackberry Playbook Tablet OS to version 2.1.0.1314. This is a good indication that RIM is still working to develop a tablet OS in the middle of a new focus on the new platform RIM Blackberry 10 to come.

Walking along the Gold SDK update today, RIM has released an update for BlackBerry Dev Alpha 10 for developers. RIM has released an update to the BlackBerry Dev Alpha 10. Version 10.0.9.1675 latest update brings tandem with the Gold SDK update
 

If you have a Dev Alpha check for updates and you should see it available. If you experience difficulties in upgrading, you can use the autoloader below.

Fixed Issues: 

• In some instances, if you connected your BlackBerry device to another device using an HDMI cable, the audio did not behave as expected.
• If you changed your mobile network settings so that your device connected to a 2G mobile network (such as GSM), a cell broadcast message might have displayed on your device every two or three minutes.
• Pictures added to contacts on the BlackBerry device were not synchronized to Microsoft Outlook.
• In some instances while playing media files, audio might have been clipped for a fraction of a second.
• Time settings may not have been updated if you changed the time zone in the Date and Time settings.

4G LTE PlayBook long wait finally came out in version 2.1 with WiFi version received a few months ago. This release will bring all the additions and improvements that have WiFi PlayBook.

Originally, the update was supposed to release sometime back in early November. For whatever the reason, carriers felt they should hold it for a few weeks more. Nonetheless, OS 2.1.0.1088 is finally available for the 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook.

The OS 2.1.0.1088 brings similar updates as the WiFi version recieved:

• Allows PIM (Messages, Calendar, Contacts) to be viewed in portrait orientation
