To use Bluetooth ® to connect a BlackBerry smartphone with your Mac computer, follow these steps:
1. Open System Preferences on your Mac and select Bluetooth.
Note: To have a Bluetooth icon appears in the menu bar of your Mac, select Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar.
2. Click the + button.
3. Click Continue on the Welcome screen Bluetooth Setup Assistant.
4. On the Select Device Type screen, select Mobile Phone from the list and click Continue.
5. In the Bluetooth Settings screen Phones, wait until the computer Mac completed a search for Bluetooth devices in range, then select the BlackBerry smartphone from the list and click Continue.
6. When a Mac finished gathering information on the BlackBerry smartphone, click Continue.
7. When asked to Enter numeric passkey for <name <Mac, type the password that is displayed in the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.
Note: There is a limited amount of time for this step. If necessary, click Continue, and then try again.
8. When asked to Accept connection request from <name <Mac, click Yes.
9. Click Quit.
You can also configure your BlackBerry smartphone to trust the connection from a Mac computer.
- On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options and select the Bluetooth option.
- Pairing devices in the area, select the connection to your Mac computer. Then, press the Menu key and select Device Properties.
- Select this option and set it to Yes Trust.
