How to enable Reporting Location
To see the approximate location of your BlackBerry smartphone on a map, reporting location must be enabled on your device:
- From the Home screen or in a folder, select "BlackBerry Protect"
- Press the Menu key and select "Options"
- On
the reporting side Location "I want this location devices can be seen
from the BlackBerry Protect web site", select the checkbox
- Press the Menu button and select "Save".

that you have enabled Location Reporting, if you have misplaced or lost
your smartphone, you can try to look on the map using the BlackBerry
Protect website. Keep
in mind that if your smartphone is turned off or do not have an active
wireless connection, BlackBerry Protect will not be able to report the

- From a web browser, navigate to the BlackBerry Protect website and log in using your BlackBerry ® ID credentials
- Click on "Location View" and BlackBerry Protect will try to find your BlackBerry smartphone.
How to create a BlackBerry smartphone you play a sound
If you misplace your device, you can have BlackBerry Protect to play a sound to help you find it. When you enable this feature, your smartphone sound profiles automatically switches to loud profile. If you have customized hardware profile to be Silent or Vibrate Only, this feature will not work as designed.
- From a web browser, navigate to the BlackBerry Protect website and log in using your BlackBerry ID credentials
- Click the "Play Sound" and then click on the "Play Sound".
